Privacy Policy

Introduction

Welcome to Contour Mapping Pros (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website https://contourmappingpros.com (the “Site”).

1. Information We Collect

a. Personal Information: We collect personally identifiable information (PII) you voluntarily provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, and company details when you submit a contact form.

b. Usage Data: Automatically collected information includes your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and the time and date of your visit.

c. Cookies and website analytics: Our public website uses three analytics tools. None of them runs inside the SitePulse client portal, the delivery pages we send to clients, or our iOS app.

  • Google Analytics 4, loaded through the Google Site Kit plugin. It sets first-party cookies (names beginning with _ga) to recognize a returning browser and reports page views, approximate location, device type, and how you reached the site. GA4 does not store full IP addresses. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout or by blocking cookies in your browser.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag. LinkedIn sets cookies on its own domain (such as bcookie, lidc, li_sugr, UserMatchHistory, and AnalyticsSyncHistory) that let LinkedIn tell us, in aggregate, which companies and job titles visit our site, and let us show follow-up content to visitors on LinkedIn. LinkedIn members can control this at linkedin.com/psettings/advertising, and LinkedIn’s privacy policy governs the data it receives.
  • GoDaddy Website Analytics. Our hosting provider adds a traffic script that counts visits and page views so that we can see how the site is performing in our hosting dashboard. GoDaddy’s privacy policy governs the data it receives.

We honor the cookie settings in your browser. We do not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals; use the opt-outs above or block cookies in your browser instead.

d. Delivery Page Activity: When you open a delivery page, a download link, or the Download Center for one of your projects, our own servers record the activity so that we can confirm delivery to the project team that ordered the work. We log which project visit and which items (images, maps, files) were viewed or downloaded and for how long each section was open; the date and time; your IP address, browser, device type, and operating system; the approximate location (city and state) and the network provider associated with the IP address; and, when the page was opened from a link we emailed, which recipient that link was addressed to.

We derive approximate location by looking the IP address up in a copy of the DB-IP Lite database that runs on our own server (IP geolocation by DB-IP, db-ip.com). The IP address is not sent to any third party for this lookup. The project team for that site, and the Contour Mapping Pros staff supporting it, can see this activity by recipient name. We do not use it for advertising and we do not share it outside the project. We remove the IP address and network provider from these records after 90 days and delete the records after 24 months.

e. Email Engagement: When we email you a delivery notice, proposal, or project update, the message is sent through Resend, our email provider. Resend adds a small invisible image and rewrites links so that we can see whether the message was opened, when, and which link was clicked. With each open or click, Resend reports the time, the browser type, and the IP address of the device that opened the message. Corporate mail security scanners often open messages automatically; we classify those as machine opens. We use this to confirm that a delivery reached you and to follow up when it did not. We remove the IP address and browser identification string from these records after 90 days and delete the records after 24 months; the record that we sent you the email stays with the project as part of the delivery record. Turning off images in your mail client prevents the open signal from being sent. You can unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any such message. Delivery notices, sign-in links, and other account messages do not carry that link because they are part of the service you asked for.

f. Sign-in History: For account holders we keep a history of sign-ins to the client portal and the iOS app: the time, IP address, approximate location, and device type. You can see your own history on your Profile page. We use it to detect unauthorized access. We remove the IP address and browser identification string after 90 days (the city-level location and device type stay) and delete the history after 24 months, or when you delete your account, whichever comes first.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to inquiries and provide customer support.
  • Improve the functionality and performance of our Site.
  • Comply with legal obligations.
  • Send promotional communications (if you have opted in).

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. However, we may disclose your information to:

  • Service providers who assist us in operating the Site.
  • Law enforcement agencies if required by applicable law.
  • Business partners in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or destruction. However, no online transmission or storage system is 100% secure.

5. Your Data Rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • See the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that is wrong.
  • Delete your account and personal data. Account holders can do this from the Profile page in the portal or the iOS app. Anyone else, including people who received a delivery link by email, can ask us by email.
  • Withdraw consent for data processing, or lodge a complaint with a data protection authority where one applies.

Send requests to support@contourmappingpros.com. We will confirm your identity by replying to the email address we have on file and respond within 45 days; if we need longer we will tell you why before then. Some records survive deletion: proof that terms were accepted, invoices, and the project deliverables that belong to the company that ordered the work. We will tell you what we kept and why. If we decline all or part of a request we will explain the reason. You may appeal by replying to that message and we will answer the appeal within 60 days. Texas residents who are not satisfied may also contact the Office of the Texas Attorney General at texasattorneygeneral.gov.

6. Third-Party Links

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those websites.

7. Third-Party Services and Google API

Contour Mapping Pros integrates with Google Drive (via Google API Services) to allow users to import files into their construction project sites. When you authorize this integration:

  • What we access: Only the specific files you explicitly select via Google’s File Picker. We do not access, scan, or read your broader Google Drive contents.
  • How we use it: Selected files are imported into your project site for the sole purpose of delivering the requested service.
  • What we store: Imported files are stored on our secure cloud infrastructure. We do not retain your Google OAuth credentials beyond what is necessary to maintain the integration.
  • What we share: We do not share, sell, or transmit Drive contents to any third party, nor do we use Drive data to train AI or machine learning models.
  • Revoking access: You can revoke Contour Mapping Pros’ access to your Google Drive at any time via your Google Account settings at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Approximate location from IP address. For delivery page activity and sign-in history we convert IP addresses to an approximate location (country, state, and city) using a copy of the DB-IP Lite database hosted on our own server (IP geolocation by DB-IP, db-ip.com). No IP address leaves our systems for this purpose. Results are cached for up to seven days. We use this only to give project owners context about where their delivery links were opened and to help account holders spot sign-ins they do not recognize. We do not use precise device location for this purpose, and we do not sell or share this information with advertisers.

8. Mobile Application

The SitePulse app for iPhone and iPad uses the same account and the same data practices described above. In addition, the app may ask your permission for the following. You can decline any of them, or change your mind later in iOS Settings.

  • Camera and photo library. Used only when you attach a photo to a site or to a field note.
  • Microphone. Used only when you record a voice note in the field.
  • Location. Used only when you create a field note or plan a flight, so that the entry is tagged to the job site you are standing on. The app does not collect location in the background.
  • Notifications. If you turn these on, we store a device token so that we can send you alerts about your projects. The token is removed when you sign out.

The app contains no third-party advertising or analytics software, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
